The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a pioneering initiative of the Government of India which aims to accelerate India’s progress towards Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals. It is the world’s largest fully government financed health protection scheme that seeks to cover 500+ million people. Key Features and Benefits of PM-JAY:

PM-JAY provides free hospitalization coverage up to 5 Lacs rupees per entitled family per annum through a network of public and personal impaneled health care providers. PM-JAY primarily targets the poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational categories of urban workers families as per the SECC 2011 database. There is no cap on family size and moreover no restriction on pre-existing conditions for entitled families. These services are totally free and paperless for the entitled beneficiary family. The National Health Authority is responsible for ensuring implementation and providing oversight for PM-JAY scheme.
